CONSTRUCTION (DESIGN & MANAGEMENT) REGULATIONS 2015 AWARENESS

Introduction

PCR Global have developed this short course specifically to provide additional knowledge to those in the construction industry to which Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) apply.

All too often we have found that that the roles and responsibilities defined with CDM are not fully understood. An organisation typically considered a principal contractor, for example, may not realise that they hold designer or principal designer responsibilities under CDM potentially impacting risk on site.

This course can be delivered at your location or via Zoom, and is designed to assist Contracts Managers, Site Managers and senior management teams within the construction industry.

Course Content

  • Overview of health and safety legislation

  • Application of CDM 2015 (L153 / HSG150)

  • Duties, roles and responsibilities

  • Pre-Construction Information (PCI)

  • The Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan (CPHSP)

  • The pre-construction, construction and post-construction phases

  • Information relationships

  • Principles of prevention

  • Hierarchy of control

  • Case Studies

On-site face to face delivery

We strongly recommend attending your location to deliver to your staff. Delivery to a group of employees enables group discussion and questions about your own procedures, hazards and control measures. Without doubt, this is a very effective method of delivering CDM awareness.

Below is an onsite course for Prime PLC in Worcester, England.

CDM delivery by Emma Wilkinson

Testimonials

Emma, Thank you for the helpful documents, in one form or another, I will use all of them.
Your delivery is spot on, not fussy, fluffy or full of legal quotes & references, straight forward, to the point and right
between the eves when it was needed.
— Ellis Baker CMIOSH MIIRSM
Delivery was pitched at the right level and flexible enough to cover the specific requirements and questions raised by 4site, on the day, and as training progressed. The inclusion of the SWOT Analysis as the course progressed allowed 4site to identify gaps in its management system and was an extremely useful take-away from the course.
— David Healy, HSEQ Manager, 4Site

Throughout the course, all students are tasked to complete a SWOT analysis of the organisation understanding and treatment of CDM Regulations, leading to actionable opportunities for improvement.
